Biogas plant Hauts-de-France

After 5 months in the field, the root beet of the chicory is harvested and still bears no resemblance to the product we know from the supermarket. Lined upright in plastic baskets, the 15-20cm long tubers wait in refrigeration to be moved to the greenhouses. Within 3 weeks, the delicious chicory salad buds grow there.
But where do we put the inedible root beets, which make up a good 30% of the plant?
Into the biogas plant, of course! But our customer had a problem: not only were many of the beet chunks still to be found in the fermentation residue after the fermenter and thus biogas potential lost; his twin-shaft shredder was also constantly paralyzed by smaller stones, and the too-large chunks clogged the pumps. Our test with the RBG08 quickly convinced him. With a consistency similar to sugar beet, the biogrinder has a field day with the root beets. It is not put off by stones. Mixed with recirculate, the fine chicory pulp is ideal for pumping into the digester after shredding, where it develops its full biogas potential.
